Casorso PAC* consists of every parent or guardian of a student attending Ecole Casorso Elementary School.
Ø The PAC executive is elected by the membership at the September Annual General Meeting.
Ø The PAC typically meets once a month (please check school calendar), in the school library to discuss school news, provide input on policies and procedures, and conduct the business of the council.
THE PAC AT CASORSO ENDEAVOURS TO:
Provide advocacy and support to the children and parents of the School; foster good working relationships with administration and staff; encourage parental involvement in the School to create opportunities for parent education; to serve as the parental voice to School Planning initiatives, Central Okanagan PAC (COPAC), School District 23 and the Ministry of Education; to organize and coordinate extracurricular and School spirit events; to raise money for items and events that enhance student learning.
The Casorso PAC is a volunteer organization. The PAC is a great way to be involved in the School, your child’s education and improve the school community. It offers an opportunity to volunteer in your community, and foster relationships with other parents, teachers and administration.
There are multiple events throughout the year that rely on parent volunteers. These annual programs and events are:
Ø MUG AND MUFFIN (MEET AND GREET)
Ø FALL FESTIVAL
Ø SPRING FAMILY DANCE
Ø SPRING RAFFLE
Ø FAMILY FUN NIGHT
Ø FUN LUNCH PROGRAM (1/2 hour delivery every Friday)
Ø FRUIT AND VEGGIE PROGRAM (approx. 2 times per month)
Ø READER BOARD SIGN CHANGE (2 times per month – approx. 45 min.)
Ø COAT AND BOOT DRIVE
Ø FUNDRAISING AND SPIRIT EVENT COMMITTEES
We are always looking for volunteers to support these programs and events. Please consider joining the executive or volunteering time to run one event throughout the year. To learn how you can get involved please attend a monthly PAC meeting or contact the PAC executive.
*The PAC is the is the legal organization recognized under the Provincial School Act, it was implemented to ensure parents are genuinely involved in advising educators and policy makers, locally and provincially in any matter related to the school, including education programs, services and operations
